I have a HCT HPP-42HCB Plasma tv. I do not get any sound when I try to watch cable but when I hook up my Xbox to tv, then I can hear sound from the speakers. Is there something in the menu that I have to switch to be able to hear sounds?

I recently purchased a Pioneer 500M Plasma monitor that does not have an internal tuner. I also recently moved into a new apartment building that has free digital cable (Direct TV). What type of external tuner would I need to purchase to receive the digital cable channels provided by my building as well as OTA HD channels?

Well I’m looking for a 42” Plasma screen TV for my family and i have no idea what kind i should get because many people say it’s great but it has many things that need to be repaired and it’s expensive. So which brand to get and I’d like for it to be under $3000

It is a 720P LG Plasma. It gets these vertical lines across the whole screen. They usually go away after five minutes or so. It does it during everything, TV, DVD, and video games. It started happening about three months after I got the TV.

I have a panasonic plasma tv that I purchased about two years ago.

Just the other day the sound began to fade. You can still hear it (with the volume turned all the way up), but there is obviously something wrong.

It goes from very quiet to blaring loud without anyone touching the volume button.

This has progressively gotten worse. Any thoughts on what it may be or how I fix it would certainly be appreciated.

We just got a 50″ Samsung HPT5064 plasma HDTV and a lot of channels (non-HD) seem to have a grainy or low quality picture. Is there some setting we should change? Is this common for larger screens? We went from a 23″ CRT TV to this so all of it is fairly new to me.
As someone asked, Comcast is our cable provider and they did provide us with an HD box.

Also, we’re sitting probably around 10-12 feet from the television.

My plasma TV has a feature you have to manually set to perform a whitewash, or sometimes called a “scrolling” cleanse of the plasma tv, to prevent burn in. I was wondering if there is a windows screensaver that will do the same thing for me since I use my plasma as a computer monitor.

Thanks!
I learned that burn in can be an issue — I have the task bar hidden and have enabled pixel shifting on my television. I rarely have issues, and when I do, they go away quickly. I more would like to have the “scrolling” whitewash screensaver as a safety net. Newer plasmas rarely get burn anymore anyway, even on computers.

I have a normal TV now and the center channel just sits on top, I’m getting a thin plasma TV and need to figure out how to have the center channel rest on top – with out falling off, or having to drill holes etc.
