Van Helsing asked:

Our new TV can pick up digital channels through the antenna. What is this? Is this HDTV?

HDTV is just TV in high definition. Well, in Australia it is anyway.
If your antenna can pick it up then its 100% free.
All the Aussie channels (free to air, not cable) have one or more special HD channels which play the same thing as the regular channel, just in HD

You pay on cable. You don’t have to pay with the new HDTV in Feb.

HD Channels are free, but you need to pay for a digital tuner to recieve them or have a tv with a built in tuner
