I want to be able to use my Samsung plasma tv as a monitor for my laptop. I don’t want to use any type of cable connection. I want to do it wireless.

I have a Samsung 50″ 1080p Plasma. I bought it the last week of December. Yesterday seven thin lines appeared about 15-16 inches from the left side of the screen. (they are Red-Yellow-Blue-Red-Yellow-Blue-Red). The lines are running vertically (top to bottom). All seven are within an inch and a half of one another. (first red to last red) The lines are very thin (less than a millimeter wide each) but very easily distinguishable from any picture on the screen and are present no matter which source you are viewing.

I just wanted some idea’s on what might have happened to cause this before I call about the warranty tomorrow. As far as I know the TV has not suffered any trauma (such as being hit or power surge).

It is not a burn-in.

I am looking for a 50″ plasma TV which will mainly be used for watching sports. My research has led me to believe plasma will be better than LCD for sports. Looking at ratings and the actual TVs I have narrowed my choices down to the Panasonic TH-50PZ800U and the Samsung PN50A550. Any recommendations out of these or other models?

I am planning on buying a flat panel plasma TV, and I was also hoping to use it as my computer monitor. I am thinking of purchasing the Samsung LA50Q7HDX, which has a native resolution of 1024×768 and HDMI inputs. Having said that, I am looking to purchase a video card that has HDMI output (expensive). I am mainly concerned about display quality as I use the computer for both work and gaming.

Do I have to adjust the display to widescreen on the computer? Feel free to let me know what you guys think.
