There are so many choices and I want to see where everyone is buying. Thanks.
I look on Cnet, AVSfrom. look like Pioneer and Panasonic are good. Visual , Buy.com are good places to buy. But I ended up buying from Sony directly. Previous Sony I have was so good, Sony has finance option, and I bought a 46 LCD, very decent. Thanks all

I just got a new 42” Phillips Plasma TV. I have a sony surround sound system that I would like to hook up to it. The plasma tv has a jack called SPDIF Output. The surround sound system requires a Left and Right audio input. The problem is that the tv only has that ONE jack for output and the surround sound system requires TWO. I purchased a cord that you can hook up to one jack and it has 2 RCA jack female parts. I hooked my 2 audio cords into this and it still doesn’t work. Maybe the cord that I purchased to make it into TWO jacks doesn’t work for audio. Can anyone tell me how to hook up surround sound to an SPDIF output jack!!

I just bout a new Sony Home Theater system, with 5 HDMI ports. And have a PS3, HDTV and regular DirecTV HD reciever. Can they all be hooked up via HDMI through the Surround sound system? And would Monster cables be the best for quality?

I recently bought a Sony 42″ LCD TV, and I was hoping to put it above my fireplace, but is this safe? Also, is it safe to place the TV in an area that is warm, like near the kitchen? Also, does this rule apply to Plasma TV’s too? Thanks!

My laptop plays Blu-ray films and has a HDMI socket. My HDTV also has a HDMI socket so should be able to play Blu-Rays. I have connected the two via a HDMI socket and inserted a Blu-Ray into the laptop but it won’t show up on the TV screen (everything else such as desktop and internet shows though).

Is there a way to watch Blu-Rays on the TV using my laptop?
