What is the difference between a Vizio LCD-HDTV with 720p and 1080p? I’m considering buying the 32 in with the 720p.

1080p means higher resolution, more clarity, better depth/sharpness.

In comparison, if you have ever seen a “dvdrip” on your PC, it is of lesser quality than 720. True 1080 can be achieved using Blu-Ray. I believe HD cable doesnt provide true 1080.

The number of lines refresh one has really answered your question yet but will be nice to progressive scan which means those 720.
